Anaesthesia Doctor

Minimum required knowledge & experience: · University degree (medical) with specialization · 5 - 7 years experience in a similar field of activity including 2 years ICRC experience · Fluent in written and spoken English · Excellent computer skills · Management skills · Very good analytical skills · Very good negotiation skills · Very good communication skills · Very good knowledge of political, social and cultural assigned environment Standard function description: · Specialist (i.e. anaesthetist, pediatrician, gynaecologist etc…) · Assist the program responsible / medical coordinator in assessing the needs of the health structure / hospitals and in finding appropriate solutions · Supervises medical staff . · Drafts written report in relation to the medical programs · Executes administrative and office work related to the project · Is in charge of a programme/ target population: plans, organizes and monitors the implementation of the related activities, as per given objectives · Follows up the related expenses and ensure the budget is not overspent · Develops and maintains contacts with interlocutors SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES · Provide a pre-anaesthesia consultation for every patient eligible for surgery. · Fill the pre anaesthetist file and write anaesthesia prescription · Conduct anaesthesia during operations performed by the ICRC surgical team and record all events on anaesthesia chart · Write the post-operative orders and prescription for every ICRC patients, at least for the first 24 hours post-surgery · Participate in the follow-up of patients hospitalized in the High Dependency Unit · Participate in the ward round with the surgical team, in Al Chifaa Hospital and Al Zahraa Post-operative center · Participate in pain management for all ICRC patients admitted in the two structures · Ensures the availability of blood units in case needed · Applies Universal Precaution Techniques · Applies ICRC policies and procedures
