Trainer Experts

Background The NGO’s “Arab Center For Development” (ACD) and “Women in Front” (WIF) through their project entitled “Women in Politics” aims at improving women’s participation in political life in order to build a healthy and democratic society. This project promotes and advocates for reforming the Lebanese electoral law to include a quota for women. The second part of the project is building leadership skills of potential women candidates ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections. Intensive training sessions will be provided for 50 potential female candidates, in order for them to engage and actively take part in the political scene, 25 journalists and 25 political party representatives in order to raise their awareness regarding the adoption of women quota in the new elections law. Trainers objective  ACD-WIF is commissioning trainers to do the following: Offer training to complement ACD-WIF organized capacity building program with the following but not limited topics: Womens rights in International Law, including relevant conventions and UN resolutions International standards for free and fair elections Electoral systems in in the international and national context Temporary special measures to increase women political participation and representation Detailing all aspects of quota for women Challenges facing the Lebanese female candidate Ways to incorporation women quota in the Lebanese election law Communication and articulation skills in presenting the arguments and advocating for women quota Media role in promoting women political participation in general and the quota for women in particular Role of political parties in promoting women’s participation in political life Delivering training sessions covering the above topics Provide ACD-WIF with the training materials to be delivered for reference.  Work with the Women participants beneficiaries through: Conducting baseline survey of effectiveness for the women participants  Incorporate results into programmatic and institutional capacity building Conduct a final survey to measure the degree of impact Trainers will provide all information to complete the assignment as well as the training rooms and facilities if needed. Timeline The trainings will be conducted in the Beirut Region during the time period of March-July 2015.
