Under the overall supervision of the IOM Representative in Lebanon and the Health Coordinator at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Beirut, and technical direction from the Manager of the National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) Lebanon, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for implementing activities within the framework of the project“Enhancing Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment for Syrian Refugees and Other Vulnerable Populations Affected by the Syrian Crisis in Lebanon” funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria’s Emergency Fund Mechanism.
In particular, he/she will:
Act as a liaison between the IOM emergency health team in Beirut and the National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) Manager.
Ensure accurate and prompt collection of data on tuberculosis on a monthly basis from the different tuberculosis centers falling under the National Tuberculosis Programme in Lebanon.
Analyze this data using epidemiological methods and statistical software such as Excel, SPSS and Stata, and draft monthly reports on the numbers and distribution of tuberculosis cases across Lebanon, with data disaggregated by age, gender and nationality.
Visit tuberculosis centers in the different areas on a regular basis and maintain regular direct contact with center managers.
Assist the NTP manager in the management of the daily activities related to the NTP program.
Coordinate all activities conducted by IOM for NTP in Lebanon including but not limited to purchase and distribution of materials, arranging trainings and meetings.
Participate in assessments/surveys of the beneficiaries’ health needs and needs of the supported tuberculosis centers.
Report any difficulties and challenges to the NTP coordinator and IOM Beirut emergency health unit
Monitor health projects’ process, specifically with the aim of increasing effectiveness and recommending appropriate actions in coordination with the National Public Health Specialist and Health Programme Officer at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Beirut.

a) Undergraduate/postgraduate degree in a relevant health field (preferably Master’s degree in epidemiology, medical sciences, medical informatics, or biostatistics); b) minimum two years of relevant work experience, including experience in epidemiology; c) experience in the public health sector in Lebanon; knowledge of project development, implementation and monitoring is an advantage; d) demonstrated understanding of the humanitarian system through work experience and/or studies; e) willingness to undertake frequent travel to field locations across Lebanon.
