1. Role and responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities (max 10)
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.
Comply with Financial Handbook and other NRC policies
Verify that all vouchers and supporting documents are according to standards set in the Financial Handbook, and enter them into the accounting system
Make approved payments
Record all cash movements
Follow up on advances and refunds
Prepare and arrange for bank withdrawals and transfers and present for verification
Maintain the filling system for all financial and accounting documents
Prepare the monthly payroll for approval
Prepare periodic financial reports and submit for review
To ensure that expenditure from the main account are accounted in appropriate budget lines and on relevant projects
Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.
Assist the Finance Officer in the Daily Bookkeeping, Utilizing the NRC Agresso Accounting System.
Manage field office petty cash
Assist the Finance Officer in the month end accounting closing process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the ledger and all supporting documentation.
Support the Finance Officer in the preparation of the monthly field financial report
Assist in the preparation and handling of payments (field visits): beneficiaries and vendors in accordance with NRC’s financial procedures and contract policies
Assist the Finance Officer in ensuring proper and adequate filing system for financial documents
Critical interfaces
By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:
Work closely with Logistics on PR’s and PO’s
To liaise with other departments when payments are due for the issuance of payment.
Ensure donor compliance is adhered to in all payment request
