Business Management Training Consultant

Short term Consultancy Under its rural tourism projects and activities, ANERA is seeking between June and August 2015 a senior consultant for 6 days to conduct a one day training for guesthouse owners and managers in 6 different regions in Lebanon on business development and management. The training will focus on planning, budgeting, control expenses, pricing, and other related business development structure and strategic planning.   About ANERA: Since 2005, ANERA is implementing a community development project to support rural hospitality businesses and food providers in rural areas in Lebanon. The DHIAFEE Project aimed at leveraging the unique advantages of Lebanon with multiple points of attractions and to spread the economic benefits of tourism to rural areas. 47 alternative lodgings throughout the country were supported creating income generation and job opportunities for local families and contributing to the development of rural tourism. Through its “Support to Rural Hospitality Businesses Project” with Lebanese Industry Value Chain Development (LIVCD), ANERA focused on establishing quality standards and best practices for rural lodging facilities developing a deep understanding of the rural hospitality sector and support stakeholder organizational network / association with members being the owners and operators of guesthouses all over Lebanon. Through partnerships and close consultation with local groups and communities, ANERA responds to economic, health and educational needs with sustainable solutions and also delivers humanitarian aid during emergencies. Incorporated in 1968 to help ease the suffering of Palestinian refugees after the Arab-Israeli War of 1967, ANERA is non-political and non-religious and is one of the largest American non-profits working solely in the Middle East for 40 years.   Responsibilities Consultant Responsibilities and Duties: ANERA is seeking a business management consultant on a consulting basis able to perform the following: Develop 6 hours training session for guesthouses on introduction to business development – financial support. Topics include (not limited to): Budgeting Control expenses Pricing Access to credit Available local and international credit facilities Develop tools like budgets and feasibility studies for guesthouses. Handouts with suggested easy to use templates. Training should be in Arabic. Training should be interactive with ample of examples and allow practice, solicit feedback from participants and ability to adapt level according to participants levels. Conduct this training session in 6 different regions in Lebanon for guesthouses. Required Qualifications: This consultancy requires an expert with a Master’s Degree in business administration, management, business development and/or any experience relevant to this field; with at least 10 years’ experience in business development and conducting workshops and trainings; in specific developing budgets and feasibility studies for small to medium enterprises; Knowledge in Lebanese areas and tourism with rural tourism familiarity is an advantage.
