The psychosocial (PSS) assistant is working in providing supplementary learning activities, based upon PSS support and the PSS curriculum developed by IRC Child Protection. He/she is responsible to organize structured PSS activities in the community schools for students in the afternoons (1-5pm).
Major Responsibilities:
Organize and deliver focused PSS activities in community education centres and Informal tented Settlements for children of different age groups (6-13)
Participate in PSS trainings hosted by IRC Child Protection Department
Participate in the organization of events and awareness campaigns and communicating with Parent Council members and IRC Education staff
Compile all the necessary M&E tools (tracking attendance of children)
Any other afternoon education activity as required

Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security children participating in afternoon education activities; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to IRC management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs

Job Requirements:
Experience in working with children and organizing activities
Working experience in NGO a plus
Experience in running Psychosocial program a plus
Experience in conducting trainings
Minimum of 1 year working experience
Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children
Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoying working in the field
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus
Travel and other requirements: Staff will be based in either the Bekaa, operating from IRC Zahle office, operating from the IRC Bekaa Officer
Contract Duration and working hours: for 25hours/week. The hours will be from 12-5pm daily. 3.5 months
