MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:
(A) Assist Disability Program Officer in the overall implementation of the project in line with the work plan;
(B) Is responsible for the administration of the project database including creating, implementing and updating project core details;
(C) Communicate effectively with social workers and other related parties (suppliers, NGOs) to gather correct information and increase speed of work delivery.
(D) Ensure appropriate and necessary procedures to be taken to help provide beneficiaries with better services.
(E) Communicate with physiotherapists and develop working relationships to provide beneficiaries with better therapy.
(F) Evaluate beneficiary satisfaction and quality of service provided.
(G) Produces statistical, analytical and narrative reports about the project activities;
(H) Facilitate ongoing proceedings of the applications, keep information system updated and file documented cases appropriately.
(I) Follow up with the disability program staff, contractors, and the finance department disbursement of funds and delivery of device to beneficiaries;
(J) Performs such other duties as may be assigned
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
(A) Academic and Professional
A university degree in business administration or other related field, preferably some experience in working with PWDs.
(B) Experience
Minimum of two years related professional experience.
(C) Language
Excellent Command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
(D) Skills and Competencies
i) Ability to prioritize the work under tight deadline and handle multiple concurrent activities;
ii) Positive attitude and strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills;
iii) Good knowledge in programme management cycle;
iv) Proven ability to exercise initiative;
v) Demonstrated skills in working with other and ability to handle sensitive issues;
vi) Proficiency in using computer applications, including Excel, Access and MS word.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
i) Knowledge of UNRWA Rules and Regulation;
ii) Previous experience with a UN organization, NGO, or donor government;
iii) Experience with relevant computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets and database packages.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Salary: As per relevant salary scale.
Contract Duration: Till December 2015 – Not Extendable.
EQUIVALENCY
Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.

As a member of the United Nations system, UNRWA maintains a close relatives’ policy. In this regard, if a candidate has a close relative (mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter) who is already employed by the Agency, he/she can only be employed if the Agency is unable to find another suitable candidate.
UNRWA staff members with fixed term appointments may apply for any consultant/contractor consultancy while in service. Upon selection, a staff member may be offered the consultant/contractor contract upon resignation from fixed term appointments and a three month break-in-service.
Candidates who are no longer employed by the Agency must have a minimum of 3 months break-in-service, before they apply to any consultant/contract positions.
