Sgbv - Senior Team Leader (North)

Position Summary: RI will imminently launch a comprehensive program for SGBV protection and assistance targeting vulnerable populations in the areas of Beirut, Mount Lebanon and North Lebanon, and is seeking three Senior Team Leaders. The program is a multi-sectoral intervention involving multiple organizations and actors from the refugee community, NGO and inter-government implementing partners, and other national and international organizations providing related services. The SGBV Senior Team leader will work under the delegation of the SGBV Project Coordinator to ensure the SGBV services are provided according to standards and protocols under the implementation plan. Each Senior Team Leader will be responsible for supervising the activities of a team of Protection Mobilizers to raise awareness on SGBV prevention and referral pathways among local communities.   ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Provide technical leadership, in collaboration with the SGBV Coordinator, and technical guidance for Protection Mobilizers in each of the targeted area. Develop weekly/monthly activity plans for Protection Mobilizers in his/her assigned area and oversee the day-to-day activities of Protection Mobilizers. Coordinate SGBV awareness and referral activities conducted by Protection Mobilizers in his/her assigned area. Train Protection Mobilizers on SGBV prevention and referral to ensure survivors receive adequate care and support in accordance with guiding principles. Conduct mapping of target areas to identify existing service providers, mitigate SGBV risks and identify community needs with respect to SGBV. Design and deliver, under technical guidance of the Project Coordinator and Program Manager, training on SGBV preparedness and response for Protection Mobilizers. Identify, recruit and coordinate community outreach workers in his/her assigned area. Maintain the area hotline between survivor hotline in coordination with the RI medical team in his/her target area. Under the guidance of the SGBV Coordinator, ensure SGBV programming meets the best practice standards and prioritizes the safety and security of beneficiaries and staff. Prepare weekly reports in coordination with Protection Mobilizers to ensure that program targets and objectives are being met. Serve as the area focal point within RI for SGBV activities conducted at the community level by Protection Mobilizers. Participate in weekly coordination meetings in order to meet the identified needs of the beneficiaries as well as the services provided. Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders in the target areas to facilitate project interventions and expand coverage area Conduct field visits to the targeted area to supervise and delegate the mobilizers to ensure adherence to the survivor-centered approaches and follow up on referrals made to external and/or community organizations.            Facilitate participatory community dialogues concerning SGBV prevention and response and support community-led initiatives with Protection Mobilizers. Ensure that the SGBV cases are responded to based on international standards and protocols for GBV related cases. Conduct monitoring and evaluation, according to project targets and indicators. Ensure information provided by the Protection Mobilizers is kept in confidential and secure manner to ensure the protection, safety and security of the survivor. Participate in SGBV working group meetings in partnership with agencies to coordinate and establish partnerships in implementation. Assist in the provision of continuing training and support for Protection Mobilizers in SGBV issues, protocols and procedures.   QUALIFICATIONS &REQUIREMENTS: This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment. Bachelor degree in a relevant field (Social Work, Public Health, International Human Rights, Gender Studies) with commensurate work experience; Expertise in gender, women’s rights, child protection and human rights; Minimum 2 to 3 years practical experience in community mobilization and/or development programming at international or national level. Knowledge of SGBV and guiding principles in working with survivors. Ability to lead field teams and experience with participatory approaches Experience working in human rights, SGBV, gender issues, with refugees, asylum seekers Maturity and discretion, able to work with, and maintain confidential information. Ability to handle conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment while working with limited resources. Flexibility and a demonstrated willingness to support team members and clients in emergency/complex situations English and Arabic fluency required Willingness to travel frequently to the field.
