Communication & Reporting Officer-Akkar

We are looking for a highly qualified individual with a mind set to achieve success in a humanitarian organisation working in a challenging but interesting environment. Who are we? The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assitance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job Production of high quality, timely reports and dissemination of communication material Duties Collecting and collate information from field teams, support teams and management on ongoing activities in each project/thematic area Drafting and editing reports to be submitted to Beirut Ensuring that internal and external reporting deadlines are respected Coordinating with warehouse, program and support staff to maintain comprehensive information on each aspect of the program. Cross check data with other program staff to ensure that reporting generated accurately reflects program activity Production of high quality written and visual material Dissemination of all communications and visibility material produced by Beirut   About you To be successful in this role you must have: University degree with advanced training/courses either in social sciences, international relations, journalism, communications, or other related field; Three-five years of relevant professional experience as a journalist, public information officer, information management specialist or similar capacity; Extensive experience in reporting Experience in photography and photo/video editing preferred.   We offer An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 month contract , renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be willing and able to work in Akkar area. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
