Background/IRC Summary: The International Rescue Committee is an international organization specializing in Emergency and humanitarian programming existing since 1933 and working in more than 40 countries. In response to the influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, the IRC started a Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) program and a Livelihoods program in 2012 with program strategies implemented in various locations in the Northern and Beka’a Governorates. IRC is now complementing its response with a Child Protection (CP) program.
Job Overview/Summary: The Community Mobilization (Com. Mob) assistant is working hand in hand with the Community Mobilization Officer. He/she is responsible to support the officer in the delivery of training to the community, linkage with community/leaders, sharing information on IRC programs, and existing services in the region
Major Responsibilities:
Support community events and awareness raising activities with children and caregivers in the IS
Link with community leaders, keep track of context information regarding the IS
Facilitate and co facilitate training to the community members regarding CP and IRC programs, as well as other relevant actors
Share information to the population in the IS around IRC services
Facilitate and co-facilitate trainings in the communities and to staff, and volunteers or PSS and Child
Any other CP activity as required

Job Requirements:
Technical diploma or degree in social science, pedagogy, preferable
Experience in working with communities
Experience in working with children with children and organizing activities a plus
Working experience in NGO a plus
Experience in conducting trainings
Minimum of 3 years working experience
Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoying working in the field
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic mandatory English speaking is a plus
Working Environment: The Community Mobilization Assistant will be based in the Bekaa office with frequent travel to the field including community centers, IS’s and local NGO’s.
