French Teacher - Broumana

Location: Broumana Position Summary: The teacher will be responsible for the daily delivery of the educational material provided in the school and for the overall management and follow up of the designated classrooms and students. The teacher will be under the supervision of the Education Field Officer and the school supervisor. The tasks will include but not be limited to: Assists in the on-going evaluation of the achievements of the students including assessing and reporting learning outcomes. Manages the classroom and other teaching settings in effective ways with commitment to the students and their holistic development. Acts responsibly and ethically in all children-related matters. Attends teachers’ and school staff trainings provided by Relief International. Prepares the daily attendance of the students using the “Daily Attendance Sheet” and submits it to the supervisor on a daily basis. Prepares the “Teachers’ Daily Report” and submits it to the supervisor on a daily basis. Prepares the “Teachers’ Weekly Lesson Plan” and submits it to the supervisor on a weekly basis. Teaches four subjects: Foreign languages (English or French), Arabic language, Math, and other agreed upon subjects and activities in the designated classrooms and areas within the school premises. Implements new approaches and techniques and uses new material and conducts new activities acquired from RI trainings. Assists in walking the students from and to the buses upon arrival and departure every day in an organized way. Maintains order and cleanliness in the classroom and spreads a culture of love and respect. Uses different relevant teaching methods that best meet students’ needs Suggests any necessary amendments to the used curriculum and advises on the addition of any material or activities into the curriculum in accordance with the Education Field Officer. Informs the responsible Education Field Officer in case any verbal or physical abuse or other improper behavior with the students is suspected. Reports directly to the Education Field Officer or the school supervisor in case any incident happens. Respects the students and treats them in a kind and understanding manner. Uses an appropriate language while addressing the students and does not shout or use improper words. Complies with the school evacuation plan and participates in training drills. Be accurate with time and directly informs the Education Field Officer or the school supervisor in case of urgent or anticipated delay Provides the Education Field Officer and the school supervisor with a 2 weeks notice in case of unwillingness to continue the work and assists in finding a replacement. Abides by the Education Field Officer and the school supervisor suggestions and instructions related to better and enhanced teaching methodologies and personal behavior. Abides by Relief International Sexual Exploitation & Abuse Policy, and the Drug Free Work Place Statement, and the Child Protection Policy. Performs other work-related duties as discussed and agreed upon by the Education Field Officer.
