Junior Engineer

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervision the progress of infrastructural activities for GVC; Guarantee smooth implementation of infrastructural activities between the Contractors and the Communities; Guarantee that all the technical documentation is properly filled, updated and classified; Support in preparation for the technical documentation for tender dossier; Develop a certain degree of autonomy in managing issues related to the daily implementation of the activities; Support GVC infrastructural activities also on other projects; Keep herself/himself up-to-date on sectorial working groups’ and local authorities’ news, reports, recommendations, and requirements, etc. Establish contacts with counterparts (technical co-ordinators from other humanitarian agencies) and share with them techniques, knowledge, approaches related to construction works; To coordinate with Project Manager and Local coordinator for daily implementation of the activities Report to and discuss with the PM and Local Coordinator any technical issues which may have a direct impact on the general implementation of the project and the organisation’s activities in the area; Undertake any other duties as requested by the Project Manager   PERSONAL AND INTER-PERSONAL SKILLS Good communication skills Arabic and Fluency in written and spoken English Highly organised and able to work respecting deadlines Strong sense of responsibility Ability to work independently while at the same time cooperating with other staff members as well as beneficiaries Deep knowledge of North Bekaa would be considered an asset
