Education Community Mobilizer

The Community Mobilizer will be the project ambassador in the community and work closely with CBE officers, Teacher Trainers, Parent&Teacher Support Officers and M&E team. He will be the linkage with community/leaders, sharing information on IRC programs, and existing services in the region Major Responsibilities: Link with community leaders, keep track of context information regarding the ITS and villages Conduct community sensitization meetings in targeted areas Assist in recruitment of teacher Facilitate selection and training of Parent and Teachers, and Mother’s group Facilitate and co facilitate training to the community members regarding Education and IRC programs, as well as other relevant actors Share information to the population in the ITS around IRC services Facilitate and co-facilitate trainings in the communities and to staff, and teachers  Any other education activity as required Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to:  North Education Manager Position directly supervises:  none Indirect Reporting:  Senior Education Manager Other Internal and/or external contacts: describe the nature of departments or groups the position influences or requires support from to accomplish objectives. Internal: ERD/Child Protection/WPE department officers External:  other NGOs working in education in Akkar Job Requirements: Experience in working with communities  Experience in working with children and organizing activities a plus Working experience in NGO a plus Minimum of 3 years working experience Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoying working in the field Fluency in written and spoken Arabic mandatory English speaking is a plus  Working Environment:  Field based in Akkar, with at least half time spent traveling to ITS camps and non-formal schools, meeting with community leaders, and half in the office in Quobayat processing work and reporting with the team.
