Grants Officer (Beirut)

ROLE PURPOSE: Under the leadership of the Grants Manager the person will contribute to the Awards portfolio with particular reference to budgeting and donor compliance.   KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:   Proposal budgets Support the proposal development team by preparing budgets for new funding opportunities Maintain proposal budget template ensuring costs are up to date Prepare budget revisions in coordination with programme teams Support finance to ensure every budget has a DEA assigned   Management and Donor Reporting: Support finance and programme teams, proposing solutions for costs that need to be reclassed Review financial reports to check expenditure charged is compliant (within project dates etc) Assist Grants Manager with other reporting if required. Assist the Grants Manager in in developing, managing, delivering and promoting the grants portfolio.  Assist the Grants Manager with the preparation of the master budget update and mapping Support AMU with Awards Management System (AMS) maintenance as necessary   Donor Compliance: Assist with Grants opening meetings, ensuring compliance is clear and understood Coordinate with finance on partner financial reports, reviewing for compliance and ensuring copies of partner’s financial reports are filed for audit Coordinate with Logistics to ensure that all GIK contributions are accurately recorded in AMS with the correct documentation Conducts occasional field visits in accordance with a monitoring plan for compliance   Support the Awards Management Unit with other tasks as assigned   QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Development      professional with a relevant Masters’ Degree or equivalent professional      experience. Significant      professional experience in international NGOs, UN or donor agency in both      emergency and development contexts, Preferably      with solid experience in more than one of the Save the Children priority      sectors: education, child protection, child rights governance, health and      nutrition, food security and livelihoods, or shelter Excellent budgeting      and accounting skills, and presentation/communication skills. Experience      in producing financial reports. Experience      in developing large-scale or strategic proposal budgets Good      interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly      and effectively at all levels Highly      developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international      environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Strong      results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mind-sets. Ability to      present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner. Ability and willingness to      dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge      teams, in the event of emergencies. Fluency in English, both verbal and      written, required. Commitment to Save the Children      values, including willingness to abide by and enforce the Child      Safeguarding policy. Desirable experience Arabic language skills highly desirable Prior experience in Lebanon or the region highly desirable Prior experience in SCI highly desirable
