Senior Social Worker

Basic Function: purpose and scope The senior social worker will supervise the team of social workers and will monitor their job in order to  response to the needs of refugees and asylum-seekers referred to the center. The senior social worker will be responsible for coordination and completion of all aspect of the projects relevant to their scope of work including collaboration and cooperation with other projects within the center and other organizations to ensure the service to beneficiaries. The senior social worker will perform a variety of tasks and duties intending to find the best solution for beneficiaries and to make the project and activities successful. The senior social worker will inform beneficiaries of their choices and guide them through their own problem-solving process in a participatory way. Duties performed: Refer eligible cases to services within the project or within the center. Inform and coordinate with UNHCR to cover the inquiry. Refer the refugees to lawyers if their case requires it. Provide moral support and recreational activities to ensure that refugees are able to survive the very difficult experience of being in an asylum country. Refer traumatized cases to a psychologist for counseling and assistance. Identify vulnerable families or individuals whether to benefit from humanitarian and medical assistance based on criteria of selection if any. Provide humanitarian assistance through the program services and existing Caritas Lebanon Migrant Centre services, or offering a referral to another NGO who can meet the needs of the vulnerable e refugee Conduct home visits to assess the needs of the families Conduct field visits depending on the follow-up to be provided to each beneficiary (hospital, school, …) Select potential beneficiaries from the community to conduct community health education Train beneficiaries  on community health education topics Conduct working groups with women, men, youth and children Accompany beneficiaries  during recreational activities Coordinate with other partners working with Iraqi refugees to avoid duplication and provide better services Manage the petty cash Collaborate with the medical focal point for all medical cases Collaborate with the educational focal point for all cases in need of education Prepare payment requests Monitor the payments done to hospital, pharmacies, schools,…. Prepare and or monitor the expenses
