Gender Based Violence (Gbv) Officer

The GBV Officer will: Support the identification of beneficiaries and suitable sites/location for the implementation of project activities and participate in needs assessments and collecting relevant data Participate in the design of project activities, monitoring systems and capacity building activities for partners, community member and children. Conduct risk assessment visits to identify risks faced by women and girls in their settlements  and mitigate these risks through referrals to other partners, provision of in-house services and advocacy Supervise activities in Women Safe Space (safety audits, vocational trainings..) in collaboration with the Protection Specialist and Field Coordinator Work across different contexts, including local communities, informal settlements, SDCs, with a particular focus on outreach work and support (in line with organizational strategy) Support, coach and mentor Protection Assistants, community animators and volunteers, monitor their work on the ground and provide guidance and oversight   Participate in writing of all required health reports (for AVSI, donors, partners, etc) Work in close collaboration with the M&E Officer (Protection) for data analysis Contribute to data collection when needed Perform any other relevant duties as required   Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in social work, development/humanitarian studies, psychology or other relevant field At least three (3) years’ experience working with women, vulnerable communities and individuals, and preferably also in the area of community mobilization. Computer skills and report writing experience. Excellent communication skills. Good knowledge of English and/or French language – spoken and written skills. Mother tongue Arabic speaker Good team player Well organized and hard worker Valid driving licence (2 years minimum)
