The Health&Nutrition Field Coordinator will:
To monitor the implementation process at all the project’s stages and ensure field level monitoring of the quality of health/nutrition education activities implemented within the scope of the project
Assess regularly the public health activities in targeted PHCs/SDCs, and community centers and make adjustments if any
Plan and coordinate the number and timing of IYCF (Infant and Children Feeding) education sessions with the supported facilities in close collaboration with the Nutrition Specialist, Project Manager and Health Assistants
Participate in the coordination meetings with the health facilities supported
To support each Public Health Field Officer in improving his/her performance
Coordinate regular tracking of health education and community session beneficiaries
Under delegation from the Project Manager, coordinate AVSI’s activities with other health stakeholders in Marjayoun, Bent-Jbeil and Nabatiyeh
To manage and supervise the Health Field Officers in charge of the monitoring of the administrative aspects of the project (number of consultations in the partner health facilities, collection of the invoices, reimbursement to the health facilities, opening hours, attendance of the staff)
Assist Program Manager in the development and/or procurement of guidelines and supplies required for program activities
Continually assess and adjust program design and interventions with Program Manager in order to address ongoing needs of the population
Participate in the liaison with local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders under delegation from the Project
Perform any other relevant duties as required
Preferred Requirements:
Degree in management or administration of health systems / public health (a master degree is a plus); at least two years of experience in the health system
Excellent planning and organizational skills
At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar role in the development and humanitarian sector with an international NGO working with and through partners
Computer skills and report writing experience
Networking and team building skills will be required.
Mother tongue Arabic speaker
Good knowledge of English and/or French language – spoken and written skills.
Valid driving licence (2 years minimum)
willing to travel locally (Nabatiyeh, Marjayoun, Bent-Jbeil districts)
