Media And Communications Officer

  Bidayyat is an organization in the field of audio-visual arts. We’re looking for a full-time media and communications officer to be based at our office in Beirut/Lebanon.   Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop and implement a specific communication strategy for Bidayyat Manage Bidayyat’s communication including: conceptualize, write and edit quarterly newsletters and press releases; carry out interviews; conceptualize and edit articles for website, brochures, and other material as required by the General Manager Produce and disseminate on Bidayyat’s website and social media channels substantive material, such as stories, short articles, photos, grant announcements, etc. Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, like-minded organizations, relevant individuals and institutions in the field of audio-visual arts, culture/cinema and media Support and participate in the coordination, planning and implementation of Bidayyat’s events including trainings, film screening, debates etc.  Promote Bidayyat’s products in festivals, public debates and through partnerships with media outlets and other relevant mediums Qualifications Strong social media and web-based media skills (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, CMS of websites) Strong writing skills in Arabic and English, preferably with a proven history of writing for media and social media, and ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines Good interpersonal skills, strong presentation and public speaking skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills, able and willing to get acquainted with subjects related to visual artistic production and documentary filmmaking and to present them clearly and simply Ability to work creatively, effectively and in an innovative manner Profound interest in audio-visual media   Experience required Hold a university degree in Journalism, Communication, Humanitarian affairs, Political Sciences or related field At least three years of experience in same or similar working field Computer Literacy: Office programs, Internet, Social media, Image processing programs like Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator Language skills: Arabic and English (well read, written and spoken) What we offer Full time position with a competitive monthly salary Friendly team spirit environment
