Protection Officer - Hasbaya
JOB DESCRIPTION:
CISP is active in South Lebanon implementing a project funded by UNHCR and targeting Syrian Refugees in South Lebanon.
One of the main activities is the rehabilitation of empty buildings to create Small Shelter Units (SSU) and Collective Shelters (CS) to be put at disposal of vulnerable Syrian refugees.
CISP intends to recruit a Protection Officer that will be in charge of selecting beneficiaries of the SSU and CS giving follow up to their stay and monitoring movements of people inside each shelter. The Officer will also be contributing to solve problems and referring special cases to the Donor or to other organization that could have the opportunity to give support.
He/She will be responsible to interact directly with both local authorities (municipalities) and with the Donor and in particular he/she will:
• Liaise with Municipalities in order to maintain the selection process very clear and transparent;
• Assess potential beneficiaries on the base of vulnerability criteria set by the Donor;
• Refer serious protection cases to UNHCR or any other specialised agency for assistance;
• Interact with Protection Officers of the Donor keeping the Coordinator timely informed;
• Actively participate to Protection Working Group Meetings (in Tyre) giving contribution to set criteria and taking decisions within the limits of his/her mandate;
• Liaise with owners of the Shelter to give continuity to contractual commitments (monthly payment of running costs for the Shelter), to solve problems between ownership and users of the shelter;
• Keeping updated tables of presence of Syrian Refugees inside each Shelter;
• Refer needs in Non Food Items to CISP deputed staff;
• Contribute to assessments of needs in the geographical area of competence;
• Report regularly to Project Coordinator;
• Other related charges.
The CISP Protection Officer will elaborate his/her working plan discussing it with the Project Coordinator. He/she will implement the working plan independently but reporting achievements regularly.

THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS:
• University degree in Human and/or Social Sciences
• Proficiency in English and Arabic both oral and written;
• Good Computer skills including good knowledge of Office Package, Email packages, etc.;
• Workingexperience in similar position;
• Very good capacity in solving problems;
• Very good communication skills;
• Willingness and ability to be flexible;
• Be rigorous, precise, calm and polite;
• Excellent inter personnel skills and team spirit;
• Valid driving license;
• Residence in Hasbaya District is an asset
• Owning private car to be used for work could be considered an advantage;
• Owning private computer to be used for work could be considered an advantage.

The salary will be proposed on the base of the effective capacity and experience of the selected candidate, considering the salary scale of the Organization and the one set by the Donor (UNHCR) for Implementing Partners.
In case it will be agreed that the incumbent will use his/her private car for work, integration to the salary will be:
• Reimbursement of his/her private car expenses on the base of mileage resulting from logbook compiled correctly and subject to the approval of Project Coordinator.
EXCLUSIONS:
