Nurse Triage

Scope of responsibilities Ensure the triage and supervise the management of the crowd Ensure vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, respiraton rate, glucose level) and anthropometric measurements (including MUAC, Weight/Height) and write down all data needed Participate actively in the registration of patients, specially mapping of new patient Participate actively in the data collection by helping doctors in the daily data Function responsibilities Patient care Ensure a good triage in the waiting room for infant, children, chronic disease patients and mental health patients Know, apply and make sure universal hygiene standards and security rules are respected for medical premises. Ensure asepsis rules during all nursing cares. In case of emergency, carry out first aid care, report to the doctor and apply treatment according to prior written protocol done by the doctor. Carry out when necessary a therapeutic education of the patient (and family) using a patient based approach. Be available for new nursing care activities in case of need (vaccinations, ...) Make sure all material and equipment are ready for daily activities. Participate in the development of the plan of action Register daily procedures on health cards and on malnutrition logbook Ensure a relevant transfer of information Manage efficiently the medical equipment and report immediately to the technical referent any problem especially the loss/ robbery/damage of medical equipment. Help in carrying out care and treatments according to doctor’s prescription and MSF protocols (Injection, dressing, nebulisation, sutures,...) Upon request by direct or technical supervisor Management Make sure all material and equipment are ready for daily activities. Monitoring, analysis and reporting   Participate in the development of the plan of action Register daily procedures on health cards and on malnutrition logbook Ensure a relevant transfer of information Manage efficiently the medical equipment and report immediately to the technical referent any problem especially the loss/ robbery/damage of medical equipment. Is aware of MSF’s objectives and activities in general and in the working context. Participates actively in meetings and trainings. Co-operation with other departments Provides support when necessary. Information   Help the comprehension of general issues regarding social and political context through sharing of information Translate documents and/or interprets conversation when necessary
