Outreach Activity Manager

TASK Goals / aims : Under the authority of the Outreach Program Manager, the Activity Manager will be responsible for: Implementing the activities and meeting the objectives as defined in the operation proposals Supervise the Outreach Team Ensure the timely implementation of the Outreach activities, that SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL’s quality standards are met and proposes adjustments or developments to ensure relevance if necessary     The Activity Manager will be required to:   Task description: Assessments and project conception Participate in the preparation and implementation of assessments of new activities. Participate in the design and the financial dimension of the human and logistical programs to implement Project Implementation Plan and supervise the implementation of the Outreach activities according to the set objectives and SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL standards Make sure the objectives for the activities under his/her responsibility are achieved and the deadlines are met Regularly visit the activities’ sites Identify and anticipate any risks and constraints related to the Outreach activities and propose alternate strategies to the Outreach Program Manager In collaboration with the Outreach Program Manager and the Outreach Team adapt the beneficiary selection methodology as necessary, in particular, the beneficiary selection criteria Assess the relevance of activities, the effectiveness of interventions, and their appropriateness in light of changing circumstances and the needs of populations, propose adjustments to programs if necessary Use the SI management and monitoring tools for the activities, results and context Support the Program Manager with the assessment of human needs, logistical and financial resources needed at different stages of the activities Ensure that the safety of persons and equipment at intervention/project sites is guaranteed Team management Take part in the recruitment of national technical staff With the administrative department, define the prerequisites for the Outreach vacant positions and, if necessary, adapt the referent job profile Welcome and brief new employees working under his/her responsibility Organise regular meetings and workshops with program team members Manage and support the team under his/her responsibility Support the team leaders. Supervise and monitor potential conflicts within the teams and inform the Program Manager in case of problem Identify any training needs and implement training activities in accordance with operational requirements Participate in the development of the Outreach team’s methodological capacities Evaluate the performance of the members of his/her team Identify team members’ potential for advancement and communicate this information to the Program Manager Monitor teams to ensure that they are adhering to health and safety regulations Monitoring and Evaluation In collaboration with the Outreach Program Manager, (and the monitoring team when relevant) adapt the monitoring and evaluation tools and methodologies as necessary Support the monitoring and evaluation surveys conducted by the Outreach team Draft reports based on the monitoring and evaluation surveys conducted.   Reporting Report weekly the  activities of his team to the Outreach Program Manager Implement the regular reporting for the Outreach activities progress using the appropriate formats, reports and databases Report any type of problem encountered on the field Immediately report any problems or information that could affect the projects/activities or the security of the teams to the Program Manager Ensure the collection and compilation of information about the progress of projects/activities from the team Write regular reports on the progress of the activities for the Program Manager Take part in the drafting of reports and schedules/appendices related to the activities for donors and/or sponsors Maintain a local operational communication network and positive relations with the local/governmental authorities, donor representatives, UN and other international agencies in cooperation with the Program Manager and Program Coordinator Represent SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in collaboration with the Outreach Program Manager for the projects/activities to the relevant bodies: local authorities, sector, partners, … within his/her employment location   POSITION LOCATION IN THE ORGANISATIONAL CHART  (hierarchical and functional) Under the hierarchical authority of:                Outreach Program Manager Hierarchical authority (on base) over:             Team Leaders/Outreach Workers
