Public Health Field Officer

General objective   Under the direct supervision of  the public health Team Leader, the public health field officer is responsible for providing quality information and health education in order to ensure access to health care by Syrian refugees with respect of PU-AMI overall principles. He/she directlyprovide quality information and health education to Syrian refugees.   Responsibilities and tasks   Activities implementation -             Participate in the identification of potential project beneficiaries in the targeted areas -             Participate in health-related assessments of the beneficiaries’ needs -             Conduct surveys using specific formats -             Participate in the implementation of the project impact survey -             In collaboration with the Public health Team Leader, Health Project Manager and Health coordinator, participate in the           creation and dissemination of IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials -             Ensure the dissemination of the information on the referral system to the Syrian refugees -             Participate in the organization of health awareness activitiesin the health facilities and communities -             Ensure the provision of health education to Syrian refugees on the topics related to hygiene, maternal and child health, nutrition and other topicsaccording to their needs -             Ensure field level monitoring of the health education related activities -             Respect the confidentiality of the beneficiaries   Reporting & Follow up -          Be in regular and direct contact with beneficiaries, collect complaints and suggestions -          Contribute to work related reports -          Report orally on the progress of public health activities on a daily and weekly basis; -          Report immediately any delay, problem or other relevant information to the Public health Team Leader   The tasks and responsabilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.    QUALIFICATIONS   Mandatory requirements    Language Skills: Fluent in English and Arabic, Education Degree: University degree in a social or health-related field. Work experience: Proven experience in NGOs. Computer Skills: Excellent knowledge of the MS office software including Word, Excel, Outlook   Other requirements -          Valid driving licence (2 years minimum) -          Good knowledge of Saida geography, willing to travel a lot locally -          Excellent communication (especially in public) and diplomacy skills to manage relationship in potentially tense situations -          Literacy in reporting, experience in conducting surveys   Assets Interest: Work in relief, interest for social issues    Transversal skills -          Strong motivation to help people in need -          Conflict resolution and diplomacy experience -          Understanding of the political situation in the area -          Reliability -          Ability to take initiative to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work -          Capacity to work in an multidisciplinary and multicultural team -          Ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing situation within a mission or the organisation itself -          Ability to analyze and suggest improvements of the activities -          Well organized and hard worker -          Able to manage stress and pressure -          Able to check information, logical -          Ability to remain neutral
