Protection Assistant - Tripoli

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to assist the vulnerable families in their needs and report accordingly. Who are we DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job assist the vulnerable families in their needs and report accordingly.   Duties Receive referrals from different agencies and local actors and provide feedback of actions taken. Carry out daily field visits and conduct Focus Group Discussions/participatory assessments/rapid protection assessment; Identifying protection problems (such as separation of family members, security, sexual and gender-based violence, etc.) Provide information to beneficiaries relating to service provision in Tripoli- T5, whether DRC services or services provided by other agencies In coordination with the case worker, facilitate sessions for the committee on issues pertaining to the elderly in their communities, as well as how to create support networks. About you To be successful in this role you must have Bachelor degree in social science, psychology or any other relevant field with w minimum 2 years experience in similar field. Ideally you will also have 2 years experience with NGO. We offer An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant an open end contract dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from September 2014 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level B1, equivalent to a basic salary of $ 1180 in addition to transportation and communication allowance per month.
