POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The applicant will work within the Mother and Child Department at the Ministry of Health
2. FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT
Accountability (key results that will be achieved)
- To follow up on the daily implementation of the IfS project activities related to the Mother and child health and other related tasks
- To ensure the application of laws and regulations regarding child safety
Responsibilities (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)
1- To conduct regular field visits as requested by the head of Mother and Child department
2- To ensure the appropriate application of the health and safety standards and risk management in different child care settings at field level
3- To ensure appropriate arrangements are in place in respect of child protection and welfare at field level
4- To ensure that the children curriculum and programmes are well promoting the educational, social and emotional development of children
5- To ensure that appropriate strategies are developed to promote child safety and development in a healthy and safe environment
6- To ensure appropriate mechanisms for the reporting and investigation (or referral for investigation) of incidents, suspected cases of child abuse or neglect, possible breaches of health and safety legislation within the nurseries, and statutory reporting (e.g. of Diseases Under Mandatory Reporting ) are in place and are used appropriately
7- To monitor the suitability and safety of the physical settings as per standards and guidelines
8- To compile data and assist in the reporting of corresponding activities
9- To submit regular progress reports compiling the activities, results, and related challenges and problems
10- To perform any other duties requested by the head of Mother and Child department
3. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, which illustrate behaviours that are essential to achieving deliverables described above, and that are critical to successful performance.

- Excellent coordination and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent computer skills and ability to manage large databases
- Good communication and organizational/planning skills
- Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic. French is an asset
4. ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Define the educational background, the relevant job experience and the language(s) that are essential to perform the work of the position.
- Holding of a Lebanese Nationality is a must
- Having a BS in public health, health management or related field preferably with a nursing/midwifery background. Midwives are particularly encouraged to apply
- At least 2 years of experience in the field of public health
5. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES. Describe any experience or knowledge that would be an asset, such as: other training, additional languages, etc
- Knowledge of the childhood learning and development
- Knowledge of mother and child safety standards
