PURPOSE:
The Finance Assistant provides support to the Finance Team in the delivery of finance services in order to facilitate the correct implementation of the GRC projects.
To implement and maintain GRC standard practices in administrative, logistic and financial procedures.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES
1. Responsible for all aspects of petty cash:
Receipts into and payments out of petty cash, including ensuring that all transactions are correctly authorized and fully documented.
Preparation of daily journal vouchers for both receipts and payments.
Daily cash count and reconciliation to journal balances.
Maintain cash books on a daily basis.
2. Preparation of checks/bank transfers for signature:
Ensure all checks requests are accompany with all support documents and approved by the Finance Delegate.
Prepare bank journal and ensure all supporting documentation is attached
Present checks for signature and pass signed checks to concerned person.
Ensure receipted copy of checks is attached to bank journal
3. Daily data input into FundsPro system and filing of FundsPro documents
Ensure document is authorized by Finance delegate before input into FundsPro.
Current month originals to be filed according to standard filing system.
After month end closure, ensure that all originals are copied and filed to the same system for retention within the delegation.
Ensure that originals are securely packaged/labeled, and sent to HQ on a timely basis
4. Assist with preparation and coding of journals where necessary
Review outstanding balances on a monthly basis, in conjunction with the Finance Delegate
6. Any other tasks assigned by the Finance Delegate required.

Qualifications
Accounts/Finance/Business/Administration Studies or any appropriate professional qualification in Finance-Administration.
Computer knowledge related to Finance.
Experience
At least 2 years experience in finance/accounts/administration.
Competent in Financial Control and reporting at all levels.
Experience of working with the Red Cross or with another humanitarian or international organization an added advantage.
Skills
Advanced knowledge in computer applications (Windows, spreadsheets, word-processing, Pastel).
Fluent in both English and Arabic.
