FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT1. UNHCR’s policies, standards and doctrine are consistently and coherently applied. Responsibility1. Interpret for interviews with refugees being considered for Resettlement;2. Translate documents provided by refugees or caseworkers in relation to resettlement;3. Interpret and translate for other purposes, as required;4. Travels with international staff on their missions to the field for interpretation and other assistance, asneeded;5. Assist in counseling refugees on matters related to resettlement;6. Assist with clerical duties as needed;7. Responds to queries relating to the area of responsibility;8. Performs other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. University degree in Interpretation, Translation, Linguistics or related field.
2. At least 3 years of related work experience.
3. Excellent knowledge of Arabic and English.
4. Strong drafting and analytical skills.
5. Excellent organization, communication and advanced computer skills

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
