Emergency Response Assistant - Zahle

   We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to finalize the Bio-data registration/Assessment of Newcomer families in central and west Bekaa in order to be eligible for the assistance. Who are we DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade , running a combination of livelihood , protection ,advocacy and relief projects .DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Syria , Tunisia/Libya , Turkey , and both a country and regional office inJordan . Since May 2011 , DRC has been actively involved in  the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North , East (Bekaa valley ) and South of Lebanon. . The DRC response is designed around 4 majors sectors :Food /NFI distribution , Protection , Shelter and livelihood support . As such , DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR , UNICEF , WFP , ECHO and DANIDA , implying a rapid expansion of its programme and structure. or further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job You will help to finalize the Bio-data registration/Assessment of Newcomer families in central and west Bekaa in order to be eligible for the assistance. In addition to refer protection cases and vulnerable cases to the right sectors inside and outside DRC   Duties Train, monitor and guide Focal Points on the new Newcomers Methodology  Organize centralized assessments in the presence of FPs and MSAs Fill out the new questionnaires and crosscheck for duplicate families during the centralized assessments.  Lead a team of volunteers and FP’s during centralized Assessments.  Compile Household lists and send it to Data Base team.  Receive referrals from different agencies and local actors and provide feedback of actions taken Assist Emergency Response officer in reporting of activities  Provide psychological first aid and basic counselling to individuals with psychosocial needs Monitor protection risks and needs About you To be successful in this role you must have a University Degree (Bachelor Degree) , in Social Sciences or Humanitarian attribute,  in addition to a previous experience as Social Worker or at least Volunteer for a year with any local or international NGO. Ideally you will also have a  bachelor of Human rights  and a Social Worker for 1 year. We offer An interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until end of December 2014, with probation period. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for national.
