Senior Accountant

Tahaddi (http://tahaddilebanon.org) is a fast growing NGO focused on education, social and health care for underprivileged populations in Lebanon. The Tahaddi Education and Health Centers are located in a poor area of Beirut. We are looking for a part-time Senior Accountant with solid accounting skills and strong administration qualifications. Main Duties and Responsibilities will generally include the following: Administer QuickBooks accounting software while performing all accounting/finance tasks including: Generation/monitoring of accurate financial statements, Proper record keeping of inflows, outflows, and receipt, Proper administration of payroll, reconciliation with government declaration to NSSF, Conduct monthly reconciliations (i.e. Bank recon, salaries, assets etc.), Maintaining a clear audit trail of all supporting documentation, Assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation for monthly and year-end review/audit, Other related tasks as deemed necessary by Center Manager. Coordinate with administrative & program managers’ staff ensuring accurate cash management/control including petty cash/checks to secure that staff has necessary amounts to meet monthly petty cash needs. Perform general administrative tasks including organization and filing of donor contracts, HR files, legal paperwork, employee records, create a central filing system for donor contracts etc. Monitor and maintain accurate/traceable inventory asset listing. Assist in developing and monitoring budgets. Identify and recommend relevant insurance coverage in coordination with the program managers. Coordinate with Center Manager and Administrative Coordinator on Service Providers’/supplier’s contracts. Ensure all government requirements are filed in a timely and accurate manner. Perform other duties of similar nature as requested by management. Skills and Experience:   Accounting degree with 3-4 years accounting experience preferably with a reputable accounting firm, Solid accounting and administrative qualifications, Strong Program Solving and Analytical skills, Fluent in English and Arabic, French will be a definite advantage, Willingness to work in very poor neighborhood with basic facilities and complex social dynamics, A full commitment to Tahaddi’s core values and humanitarian mandate.  Schedule and location: This part time position is based on a 6 hours per day/ 5 days a week (preferably from 8am to 2pm) at the location of Tahaddi near the Kuwaiti Embassy, behind the Sportive City.  Remuneration Package: Salary is relative to experience, and includes NSSF/transportation allowance Reporting line: The Senior Accountant will report to the founder/Tahaddi Education Centre manager, the financial consultant and work closely with the Program Managers.
