Physiotherapist

Minimum required knowledge & experience:  2 - 3 years work experience in similar function Good knowledge of spoken and written English Good computer skills        Standard function description:  Develops and implements individual patient physical therapy care plans Contributes to the complete recovery of the patient Liaise with the surgeon and other medical staff to provide a better care based on a multidisciplinary  approach Administers a suitable physical therapy program depending on the case of the patient Shows extensive clinical experience in post-operative rehabilitation and respiratory care Develops gradual progressive treatment protocols in accordance with the instructions of the physician and mobile physiotherapist Guides patients through prescribed exercise programs, including passive, assistive, and resistive exercise routines which are designed to develop or enhance strength, muscle tone, and range of motion. Assists patients in gait training (i.e., the use of walkers, crutches, canes, braces, etc.) in order to improve ambulatory skills Develops auto-training programs designed to meet individualized patient needs when required Observes condition of patients during treatment and may modify the prescribed treatment if it seems to be injurious to the health of the patient; Communicates effectively with patients to maximize rehabilitation potential and ensure understanding of condition Records patient response to treatment and overall progress in patient charts Prepares patient transfer sheets detailing the overall situation of the patient and the treatment administered Provides statistics to the assigned mobile physiotherapist when required Participates in regular meetings with the physiotherapists and other health staff to discuss the overall patient evolution Keeps up to date with new techniques and technologies available for treating patients Maintains treatment areas by changing linen, cleaning and refilling equipment Performs related work as required
