Internship - Protection Unit - Int005 - Zahle/bekaa

- Analyse trends and statistics of the type of protection cases referred by other agencies- Assist in preparations of protection working group meetings and attend and take minutes of meetings- Create an efficient digital archiving system on UNHCR’s shared drive and file cases accordingly- Assist in updating weekly/monthly inter-agency and protection briefing notes- Data entry to update and maintain sectorial activities, service note directories, coordination group contact lists and other documents as needed.- Develop and maintain a filing system for the protection unit.- Translate written materials (both from Arabic to English and from English to Arabic), including meeting minutes, briefing notes, governmental decrees and other materials as needed.- Act as translator in meetings when required.- Perform any other administrative tasks as required

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- University degree preferable but students of the following disciplines are encouraged: international law, international relations, political science, or related fields of discipline.
- Job experience: No experience required
- Proficiency in English and Arabic. French is a plus

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of computer applications such as MS word, Excel, Access. Familiarity with ProGres Data Base is a plus.
- Good Communicator with strong interpersonal skills to deal with asylum seekers and refugees of different cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Ability to work under pressure.
