Internship - Community Services Unit - Int004 - Zahle/bekaa

- Support in the overseeing of the child friendly space (CFS) at the UNHCR registration centre in Zahle UNHCR offices.- Identify children from the registration waiting area who could benefit from the CFS and provide space for families to interact with their children.- Provide the children at the CFS with appropriate activities and use of the educational toys and games whenever they are present.- Support the children in doing art work that can be used as posters on the wall on rotational basis and to be exhibited in the compound and on occasions.- Engage both caregivers and children with different creative and social activities that the both children and caregivers can engage in together.- Link with different organisations that run CFS across Bekaa and on a rotational basis ask them to volunteer at the CFS by creating a schedule on a monthly basis.- Adhere to the code of conduct, principles of non-discrimination,- Involve both children and caregivers in story telling activities, i.e select a story or theme and have an older person tell it to the children or the old teach the children on Syrian Traditions.- Maintain a registry of children who come to the activities at the CFS, ensure that there is an accountability system in place to link parents/caregivers with the children at the centre- Any other administrative duty as may be required.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- University degree preferable but students of the following disciplines are encouraged: international law, international relations, political science, or related fields of discipline.
- Communication skills in English and Arabic.
