Responsibly for timely and quality implementation of technical aspects of the shelter projects including the effective management of technical field assistant(s), effective communication with social team, effective communication and follow up between house owners ensuring that they are clear of their contractual obligations and comply with them. Ensures that all issues are dealt with and recorded in a timely and effective manner, ensuring the organization of hard and soft copies of all shelter related documentation.
Key Responsibilities
To manage the Technical Field Assistants under his/her supervision. Including performance management, daily briefings, daily reports, activity planning and capacity building.
To coordinate with external stakeholders as required such as municipality focal points, other NGOs etc.
To conduct technical assessments and explain to all beneficiaries and those who did not fall within the project criteria the NRC selection criteria.
Produce accurate drawings, reports, measurements (BoQs) and/or photographs as evidence of a technical assessment.
To ensure that house owners are clearly explained and understand the project and terms of the agreement they are undertaking with NRC.
Conduct random site visits at every stage to check quality, quantity, and timeliness, and sign the relevant documentation
Assist house owners with technical advice on how to complete their works at the expected quality and budget.
To guarantee that all house owners and beneficiaries sign all the appropriate documentation for their contracts and subsequent payments.
Systematically follow up on troublesome cases
To organize and manage the file folders and make sure that all necessary documents are in place.
To coordinate with NRC social staff at the field level in planning and performing programs activities.
To ensure and promote efficient and cost-effective use of NRC’s assets and resources in order to maximize funding to beneficiaries
To submit to the PC weekly reports on the activities and action points, as well as car movement plans.
Provide regular reports relating to analysis of assessment findings, as well as progress and situation reports
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Supervisees:
The TFO supervise the work of the assigned TFA(s).
Qualifications and Competences
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Ordinary National Diploma / Technical in relevant field
Relevant Experience
Minimum 3 years of proven field experience in relevant field, in a busy working environment.
