Summary and Background
The Health Education Reporting, Officer (HERO) will be responsible to support the health education program in writing and compiling program reports in accordance with specified deadlines.. Additionally, the HERO will collect and analyze the data from the field. Finally, the HERO will work closely with the Health Education Quality Officer to develop, pilot and implement of monitoring and evaluation tools.
Place in the Organization
The incumbent of this post reports to the Health Education Program Manager (HEPM) and is under her supervision and programmatic responsibility. The Health Education Support and Specialist (HES) shall provide direct technical oversight and guidance regarding the mechanisms for data collection and formulation of reports concerning the HE activities in all the areas. The HERO will work alongside the Health Education Quality Officer (HEQO) on matters of data analysis, monitoring and evaluation after implementation of the procedure developed by the HEQO.
Functions and Responsibilities
This position is designed to ensure support for health education program via the following activities:
Reporting and Documentation:
Responsible for drafting the weekly monthly, quarterly, annual and other reports, in conjunction with HE program team, according to donor requirements and ensure timely submission to health reporting officer for submission
Ensure report collection from the field and compile all the data collected in on unique health education report.
Track the progress against targets and indicators specified in proposal and strategy documents.
Conduct data collection, collation and analysis, to produce reports according to deadlines specified by IMC and its donors.
Compile data and statistics from the programs are on hand and ensure their accuracy.
Review monthly report and ensure accuracy of data.
Capacity-Building and Program Strengthening
Work closely with IMC’s health education field teams to build capacity and ensure consistency across all sites.
Conduct coaching with the health education team on techniques for data entry of the monthly report and other reporting templates and ensure data are well collected, and filled in the tools.
Work closely with the HEPM, HES and the HEQO to set up data collection criteria and review criteria based on donors recommendations.
In coordination with the HEQO, provide mentoring and support the Health Education Officers in each region to improve their skills and ensure accuracy.
Coordination & Other Duties
Attend central HE staff meeting and HE regional meeting as requested.
Conduct other duties as requested by line manager.
Adhere to all of IMC’s policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct and SOPs.
