Area Coordinator (Ac/t5/unicef)

INTRO Terre des Hommes Italy, nongovernmental international organization, is recruiting an Area Coordinator to be involved in the implementation of Education and Protection projects for Syrian Refugees and affected populations in North Lebanon funded by UN agencies.   JOB PURPOSE The Area Coordinator will be responsible for co-managing the implementation of a 6-month project. S/he will work closely with project staff, local partner, civil society organizations and stakeholders to ensure timely and quality implementation of all activities and the development of a collaborative relationship between beneficiaries. The Area Coordinator will oversee day-to-day operations and will ensure that the implementation of the program itself is on-time and to maximum effect. This includes providing a regular presence with, project staff stakeholders and networking contacts with local government, international and local agencies. The Area Coordinator will be responsible for managing  activities in line with Terre de Hommes frame work and best practices S/he will also collaborate closely with the technical staff, as well as trainers and educational and child protection experts working on the Project to ensure the deliverables are of high quality, and delivered in a timely manner.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To be the representative of TdH-It on the field according to the PM indications and in line with TdH-It’s project strategy; To liaise with  schools , municipalities, the local communities and TdH-It ensuring a smooth continuous exchange of information ; To participate in the planning and monitor the implementation of the Accelerated Learning Program, Second Shift activities and transportation activities, working in close collaboration with and under the direct supervision of the Field Officer and the Project Officer/Manager; To supervise and ensure data collection; To facilitate and monitor the implementation of the project activities promoting the child as central actor; To coordinate and supervise the provision of students' entry diagnostic tests and evaluation tests; To organize awareness campaigns on children's rights and on the importance of education and positive discipline among the target population in collaboration with and under the direct supervision of the Educational Expert, Field Officer and the Project Manager; To monitor, support and coordinate the project field staff in the assigned area; To participate in coordination meetings and collaborate with project to support the project activities in other project sites when needed. Any other tasks required to accomplish the project objectives.     Experience and requirements University Degree in humanitarian affairs, social science, law, development studies or relevant field. At least 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in humanitarian affairs, human rights, child protection, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief or rehabilitation or other related area with a minimum of 1 year experience in emergency response or humanitarian relief context (though experience in a development context is also highly regarded). Able to work independently and in a team. Strong cross-cultural communication and resilience skills are very important. Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds. Average computer literacy Holder of a valid driver’s license Good  writing skills Capacity to work in team and flexibility to take on new tasks. Proven ability to negotiate multiple relationships with various partners. Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations Excellent interpersonal and networking skills Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic. Strong oral and written communications skills. Cultural sensitivity and adaptability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel. Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
