Finance Assistant

Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon. Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa:     KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:   Carry out, maintain, monitor and record all financial transactions related to payments, fund transfers, partners and projects including accounts prepaid, payable, receivable, payrolls and accrual into Agresso system by: Preparing payment requests for partners and for SPP staff and processing financial transactions related to office and project expenditures Checking partners’ financial reports and supporting documentation according to the alternative standard procedures Uploading partners financial reports into Agresso Preparing documentation report coverage for each grant Maintaining an effective filing system for financial transactions and project documents and ensuring that all financial documents are accurately supported, approved and coded, and that all cheque books, cheque list, petty cash are reconciled  Managing petty cash, bank account, including undertaking monthly bank reconciliations, foreign exchange management Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Good understanding of financial and accounting policies, standards and procedures. Work experience with community development projects and/or INGOs would be an advantage.   Skills: Good communication skills (both written and oral) in Arabic and English; Working knowledge of accounting software (ability to use English language software); Competent in Microsoft Excel; Good analytical and organizational skills, Attention to details and determination to meet deadlines.
