Health And Nutrition Project Coordinator

Position:                      Project Coordinator   Reports to:                  Health and Nutrition Program Manager   Location:        North Lebanon, West Bekaa, Rashaya, Beirut, Mount Lebanon   About RI:        Relief International (RI), an international relief and development agency with cross-sectoral programs bridging relief and development.   POST DESCRIPTION Relief International is recruiting a Project Coordinator for health and nutrition project to support on-going emergency project targeting Syrian refugees and vulnerable host population. The role is full-time, and will involve a combination of remote field working (70% of working time) with overnights and periodic office-based liaison and tasks (30% of working time). Candidate will be based  in the Zahle? or Beirut? office with frequent travels to West Bekaa, Rashaya and North Lerbanon (Akkar, Meniyeh, Deniyeh and other areas if necessary). Anticipated start date is 1 June 2014. Contract is initially for one year.   PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Project  Coordinator  is responsible for overseeing and reporting Program Manager the field activities of the RI health and nutrition teams in the project areas. The Project Coordinator provides monitoring and where necessary the technical guidance  to health and nutrition  teams to ensure services are of quality and nationally accepted standards. The Project Coordinator also represents RI at inter-agency meetings when necessary.    PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the  Program Manager in the implementation of the project activities Supervise and monitor the field activities of five mobile teams in the areas of Beirut, Mount Lebanon, West Bekaa, Rashaya and North Lebanon, collect the weekly reports from them and submit to M&E team. Follow routine data collection and reporting; prepare weekly statistical morbidity and mortality reports, reproductive health reports and immunization data  from 5 mobile units (medical doctors, nurses, midwives and MOPH vaccinators) In collaboration with the Program Manager prepares quantitative and qualitative reports of all health and nutrition activities according to donor and MoPH reporting guidelines. Support to general logistics related to the project activities Follow up on procurement of supplies and stationary for the project activities as per RI procurement policy; Assist Program Manager in facilitation of regular trainings for  team members  to strengthen their skills in areas of health and nutrition service provision, Ensures that standard procedures and protocols are practiced by staff. Follow up drug distribution and consumption  in comparison with reported cases managed. Provide support to Program Manager  in the integration of health and nutrition activities with other sectors such as Education and SGBV,  the exchange of medical information and experiences between the various projects through dispatch of documentation and the regular meetings Travels frequently to RI supported sites for supervisory visits. Work together with the program Manager on developing and tracking  workplans and action plans for teams. Liaise with Monitoring and Evaluation team to ensure progress towards established indicators. Participate and lead needs assessment, analyze and organize data/information Performs any other duties assigned by the  Program Manager Participates on the inter-agency coordination meetings Participates at the negotiations with the local communities, government authorities and religious leaders  at the municipalities level Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Program Manager and report to Project and Program Manager QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Share the humanitarian mission of the organization. Health/or Nutritional professional with university degree At least 3 years of experience in implementation health/nutrition programs, preferably in emergency situations Strong  report writing skills and comfortable working with software and databases Ability to manage and coordinate complex work flows  and staff of  varied backgrounds Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, effectively managing multiple priorities. Extremely flexible with the ability to cope with stressful situations Willingness to frequently travel and live in remote and security difficult situation. Cultural sensitivity essential Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation. Must be fluent in English (writing and speaking)
