Hydrological Survey

Concern Worldwide proposes to explore the possibility of developing three fresh water spring eyes in Rmah village and one spring at Wadi Jamos as well as developing a borehole (3 in total)  at each of the following villages: AinYaa’coub, Bereh and Bebnine. The hydrogeologist is expected to assess the overall viability of developing those springs and borehole, in terms of expected and their water quality at each of the locations. 1. Specific tasks related to spring catchments The objectives of the study are to: 2.1 Determine viability of developing each of the aforementioned mentioned spring eyes and spring 2.2 Advise whether developing one of those spring eyes would impact on one or both of the other spring eyes. 2.3 Determine the origins of each spring eye, and its expected yield if developed. 2.4 Determine the expected water quality of water obtained from the spring eyes and spring All of the details of the survey must be presented in a technical report as outlined in par (4) 2. Specific tasks related to boreholes The aim of this hydrological study is to 2.1 determine if suitable sites exist for drilling of boreholes and 2.2 Define a location for drilling a borehole lying on an active aquifer, with the minimum expected yield together with the estimated depth for that drilling should reach and a general overview of the geological nature of the land. All of the details of the survey must be presented in a technical report as outlined in par. (4) 3. Time Frame This hydrogeological surveys will be carried out over the course of a 4 week period, commencing early July ’14.   4. Deliverables: A detailed report for each survey will be submitted to Concern within two days after the relevant survey has been completed. Concern retains the right to review, feedback and request changes on the report and after reviewing  same, should be finalised by the surveyor within two days. The report should outline the following The viability of the project as per the specifics mentioned above. Influence of developing one spring eye over another (in the case of the spring catchment assessment) Estimated yield of each eye spring and borehole (applicable to the specific report) The expected water quality. Specific technical recommendations on how to develop the spring eyes (in the case of the spring catchment assessment) and the boreholes.
