  Tahaddi Lebanon is currently recruiting for the position of COMMUNITY-BASED PRIMARY CARE NURSE.  Tahaddi Lebanon is a small local non-profit organization.  We are focused on serving families facing extreme poverty. We operate a community-based primary care clinic in the area of Hay el Gharbeh.  We are looking for a professional, compassionate nurse who enjoys working in a community setting and who is committed to providing quality medical care to marginalized families. This nurse must be able to work well with people from varying backgrounds without prejudice and be comfortable working in basic facilities with a diverse team.   __________________ Job Title:  Community-based primary care nurse, Tahaddi Lebanon      Status: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00-4:00pm   Position Summary: The community-based primary care nurse will work at the Tahaddi health center in Hay el Gharbeh. Hay el Gharbeh is an impoverished neighborhood located on the outskirts of Beirut. The health center provides free primary care to families of the area. The nurse is an integral part of the clinical team and works closely with both the clinical (physicians, social worker) and programmatic staff (program manager). The nurse is responsible for clinical care for patients including, but not limited to, providing vaccinations, wound care, taking vital signs, drawing blood, growth monitoring, patient education and assisting with minor surgeries.  Additionally, the nurse is responsible for the oversight and implementation of key health programs including the Tahaddi vaccination program, the health education series and the home visitation program. The nurse reports to the senior physician and ultimately the health program manager.      Areas of Responsibility: Clinical Responsibilities: Provide nursing services to the patients coming to Tahaddi clinics, with a high level of professionalism and with respect towards all, regardless of origin or socio-economic level Oversee the Tahaddi vaccine program including compily monthly statistics, placing orders and insuring the safety of the vaccinations. Effecively administering the vaccinations. Schedule and participate in home visits to elderly and homebound patients on an as needed basis Working closely with the team, develop and oversee the community health education program   Administrative Responsibilities: Ensure patient records and clinic statistics are kept up to date Monitor clinical supplies and place orders in a timely fashion Organize the storage of clinical supplies in conjunction with the receptionist Ensure patient rooms are kept orderly and hygienic Submit monthly work-report in a timely fashion   Qualifications: -          Valid Lebanese Nursing License -          Nurse with at a bachelor’s degree (BSN) in nursing from an accredited institution.  -          At least three years of clinic experience in a primary care setting with a strong commitment to social medicine -          Languages: Native speaker of Arabic preferred, otherwise a good level of spoken Arabic is necessary; French and English are desirable, at least one of them at an advanced level. -          Leadership skills: Self-motivated, initiative taker, able to work both independently and in a team environment. -          Relational skills: Friendliness with all, with a positive and encouraging spirit, patience and compassion, but with clear personal boundaries. -          Willingness to work in a economically disadvantaged community and within basic facilities   * Holidays and benefits according to the Lebanese Labor Law     Please send CV, cover letter and references to nkhouri@tahaddilebanon.org   Immediate opening
