Training Coordinator - Beirut

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate for the SSCL Area Training Coordinator position in Beirut - Lebanon. Who are we The Safety & Security Committee for Lebanon (SSCL) is a committee of Local NGOs, International NGOs, United Nations (UN), International Organizations (IO) and Civil Society Non-Profit Organizations who coordinate and share information, resources and training on safety and security in Lebanon. SSCL Mission Statement: To enhance the safety and security of international and local organizations operating in the humanitarian, development and civil society sector in Lebanon by fostering awareness and analysis, risk management, information sharing, coordination and best practice. About the Job Responsibilities The Training Coordinator is responsible for facilitating trainings provided by the Safety & Security Committee for Lebanon (SSCL) in conjunction with the Grant-holder, Danish Refugee Council (DRC), to SSCL members, clients, and stakeholders in Lebanon, and operating in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region. This will be done by: Leading the logistical, administrative, and resource planning, implementation, and follow-up of SSCL trainings, including Hostile Environment Training, Safety Management Training, and Hostile Environment Driver Training. Providing English and Arabic interpretation for all SSCL trainings, and translating all necessary training documents between English and Arabic. Serving as the focal point to SSCL members, clients, and stakeholders in regards to applications to planned trainings, training payments, follow-up inquiries, and certificates. Coordinating with DRC staff in regards to the accurate and timely completion of financial, administrative, logistical, and procurement documentation, in regards to planned trainings. Serving as the focal point to third-party training providers in regards to additional training requests from members, collecting potential training agendas, pricing, and scheduling. Developing new SSCL training products, as needed. Reporting The Training Coordinator will report to the SSCL Director, and will work closely with other SSCL and DRC staff. Required University degree in English, Adult Education, or related area. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in professional English interpretation/translation. Proficient user of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Good references from non-related sources attesting to good character and honesty. Familiarity with the philosophy, priorities, and principals of INGOs, humanitarian principles and development. Excellent social, analytical, and diplomacy skills. A strong verbal and written communicator in English & Arabic languages. A great sense of humor is critical. Preferred Sound understanding of risk management principles. Ability to develop and maintain culturally and socially diverse relationships and contacts. Previous experience in management and coordination. Experience of staff capacity development, training and knowledge transfer. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 3 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level D1, equivalent to 1968 USD per month.
