The Information Officer, under the supervision of the Field Coordinator(s) and Assessment Officer, is responsible for collecting assessment data relevant to REACH assessments. This includes data collection and support to data entry where necessary. He/she will be based in the field.
Responsibilities
The Information Officer's responsibilities will include:
Collecting data and information in the field through interviews of key informants and community members, focus group discussions, field visits and surverys, in line with the REACH Assessment Methodology;
Ensuring transparent, accurate and timely collection of quantitative and qualitative data and information;
Ensuring a regular, effective and comprehensive transmission of information with the all Database team;
Cross-checking information accuracy with the database entry;
Supporting geo-referencing of all surveys conducted in the field as required by the REACH Assessment Methodology.
Reporting
The Information Officer is also required to report information from the field accurately to the Field Coordinators and Assessment Officer. In regards to reporting, the Information Officer will be responsible for:
Providing regular reports to the Field Coordinators at frequent intervals on the progress of the implementation of the assessment activities and on relevant observations during the mission;
Transcribing accurately responses from primary data collection (interviews and focus group discusssions) and provide English transcriptions to Field Coordinators when returning from the field;
Working closely with the Database to provide accurate data and where necessary assist in data entry.
