The Climate Change and Environment in the Arab World Program, at the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs, launched in 2008, aims to understand the climate change and environment policy process in the region, to define the most appropriate policy recommendations by linking development in applied sciences on issues related to climate change and environment to social sciences. The program's approach is to tackle questions in a multidisciplinary approach using perspectives of social and applied sciences. Capacity Building Programme on Water Integrity in the Middle East and North Africa: The Climate Change and Environment in the Arab World Program is the Lebanese National partner for the Capacity Building Programme on Water Integrity in MENA. This project is part of a bigger international and regional consortium expected to perform three tasks in particular: (i) conduct a national study to identify the main water integrity risks in Lebanon, (ii) host and provide the logistics for national trainings, and (iii) conduct follow-up activities with alumni. The Field Assistant’s tasks will include: Collect and review literature relevant to water integrity risks Assist the Faculty Research Director and the Project Coordinator in mapping and compiling arepository of the main stakeholders and sectors responsible for water resource managementnationally Aid in conducting interviews with concerned stakeholders Travel to different areas in Lebanon to carry out research Transcribe interviews and draft reports Assist the Research Assistant in planning and implementing events (consultation meetings,trainings, round tables) Attend meetings with third parties Assist Project Coordinator and the Research Assistant in other relevant administrative tasks
