Senior Case Worker (Child Protection) - Baalbek

We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated Child protection Senior Caseworker for the DRC Field Office in North Bekaa.     Who are we? DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. Duties To support CP caseworkers through the provision of technical support and guidance. To ensure that staff implement and respect best-practice and international standards in CP response; To provide age-appropriate and specialized support to CP caseworkers on case management and psychosocial support; To ensure timely and appropriate follow-up on cases and feedback on referrals is given by caseworkers; To establish and/or monitor filing system, ensuring confidentiality of files; To prepare and submit weekly, monthly and 3-month work plans in a timely manner upon officer’s validation; To develop and maintain effective working relationship with relevant stakeholders including partner agencies, community leaders and service providers; To contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area and ensure that caseworkers are informed about the available services; To oversee case management (including follow up on referrals and action plans) and support services provided to CP survivors (awareness sessions, emotional support sessions); To develop and support adherence to CP case management minimum standards; To work closely with the GBV team when GBV cases involve child survivors; About you To be successful in this role you must have Bachelor in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field, 3 to 4 years of experience in counseling mainly with children and be able to work under pressure. In addition, flexibility in terms of working hours and working locations is essential. As for the language, Fluency in Arabic is required and Ability to communicate and write clearly in English strongly preferred. We offer An interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. You must be available to start work from 1st of June 2014 and be willing and able to work in North Bekaa (Baalbeck).
