Who are we
The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assitance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.

About the job
Manage referrals of person with specific needs (PSN), disseminate protection information, maintain database of PSN cases, work with communities.
Duties
Receive referrals from different agencies and local actors and provide feedback of actions taken;
Carry out daily field visits and conduct Focus Group Discussions/participatory assessments/rapid protection assessment;
Provide information to beneficiaries relating to service provision in Area of responsibility, whether DRC services or services provided by other agencies;
Refer serious protection cases to DRC protection or other specialized agencies for follow up and assistance;
Assist in establishing community support committees for the elderly in coordination with protection and community development colleagues.
About you
To be successful in this role you must have:
Bachelor/Degree in Social work, political science, law or other related field;
Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times;
Previous INGO experience preferred.
Ideally you will also have:
Bachelor degree in law, social work, or related field.
Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon
We offer
An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from June 1st 2014.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level B1, equivalent to USD 1,180 per month (basic salary).
