About RI:
Relief International (RI), an international relief and development agency with cross-sectoral programs bridging relief and development currently seeks Education Field officer for RI’s Education programming in Lebanon in response to the Syria crisis.
Position Summary:
The Education Field Coordination Officer (EFCO) will be responsible for the daily support and follow up for a team of Education Field Officers (EFOs) responsible for implementing the education program in a number of schools. The EFCO is under the direct supervision of the Education Program Manager and reports directly to him.
The tasks will include but not be limited to:
Assists the Education PM in the various aspects of the program.
Constantly updates the Education PM on the situation and the progress of the schools.
Refers to the Education PM on any decision making steps or any modifications that need to be taken regarding the implementation process.
Meets regularly with the EFOs for updates and feedback.
Supports the EFOs in identifying, visiting and establishing new schools and building good and positive relations with the school management.
Supports the EFOs in the outreach plans within the school area.
Supports the EFOs in getting familiar with the Education Program system including all forms & sheets used and reporting channels and deadlines.
Collects and processes photocopying and printing orders from the EFOs.
Suggests any education / humanitarian relief capacity building for the team.
Mentors and trains EFOs including induction courses, accompanied school visits and any other required support.
Assists in the targeting of new schools / learning centers and conducts meetings with the principals to introduce the Education Program.
Provides technical and educational support to the running schools.
Temporarily replaces an EFO in case of absence or leave and follows up on all EFO-related tasks and reports.
Prepares PRs for schools payments following the RI’s payment procedures.
Sends reminders to the EFOs for any delays in due reports, tasks or updates.
Attends in-office and external meetings as requested by the Education PM.
Collects required forms and sheets from the EFO’s on a regular basis as per the time frame and archives them in an organized system.
Prepares a field visits plan and conducts them regularly and provides feedback to the Education PM on any program related concerns using the relevant form.
Visits various schools in all program areas as requested by the Education PM
Assists the Education PM in new interventions or scale up activities that need to be implemented within the program.
Accompanies the Education PM for field visits upon needed.
Assists the EFOs in preparing the schools evacuation plans and oversees related drills.
Assists in the development of any program related surveys and other appropriate field-based studies.
Represents the Education Program in workshops, meetings and public forums to share program accomplishments as requested by the Education PM.
Follows up on the EFOs team attendance and reports any absence to the Education PM & the Human Resources (HR) Officer.
Provides updates on all aspects of the schools and related activities when needed.
Represents the organization in a professional and respectful manner.
Complies with the Finance department procedures and meets the deadlines to ensure smooth running of the school staff payments.
Directly reports any security / field / office Incidents to the Education PM
Ensures that all school-related activities and program implementation procedures are conducted in a manner free of corruption or questionable practices.
Other program related tasks as agreed upon with the Education PM.
Required Qualifications
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.
Bachelor Degree in Social Education or any other related field, Masters Degree is a plus
A minimum 3 to 5 years experience in operations position preferably with Local or International NGOs.
Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently.
Good command of Excel and Microsoft Word preferred.
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic & English is a must
Desire to learn, willingness to ask questions, cultural sensitivity, and flexibility are desired characteristics.
