Nutrition Monitor (3 Positions)

Position:                     Nutrition Monitor   Reports to:                 Program Manager   Location:                    Beirut - 1 position, West Bekaa / Rashaya- 1 position, North Lebanon - 1 position   About RI:                    Relief International (RI), an international relief and development agency with cross-sectoral programs bridging relief and development currently seeks Nutrition Monitors for RI’s health and nutrition programming in Lebanon in response to the Syria crisis.     Position Summary:   To manage and coordinate the work of the CNPs in the outreach programme (identification of new and follow-ups of MAM and SAM cases with medical staff examinations).   Main Duties and Responsibilities:   Support and supervise the OTP programme Monitor CNP conducting regular follow-ups visits for malnourished children to ensure that all malnourished children are receiving food according to the calculation guidelines and getting timely treatment at home Work closely with the team to ensure all OTP and SFP children are measured correctly and receive food/systematic treatment according to the treatment protocols. Ensure that all children are assessed, managed and measured correctly and have comprehensive health checks at every visit. Facilitate the referral of the “non-responding” children to the trained PHC/Hospitals.  Ensure effective follow up of these children. Ensure that all children referred to the PHC or hospital are followed up. Ensure the prompt tracing of children who are absent from the OTP programme and request specific children to be followed up in the course of the week as required. Ensure that weight changes of the children are closely monitored  and those with slow weight gain or weight losses are given optimal attention by the medical and nutrition staff. In liaison with Health team ensure the availability of all medical supplies required to treat the severely and moderately malnourished children at their  area. Manage the stock levels of all nutrition food materials.  . Submit a weekly report of all OTP activities and number of new and old MAM and SAM cases in OTP. Report any problems in a timely manner to the Program Manager. Investigate the reasons for slow weight gain, defaulting, absenteeism and share them with outreach supervisor and nutrition specialist. Perform any other duties assigned to her by the supervisor.   QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Share the humanitarian mission of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate with a health and nutrition team Required nutrition certifications according to Lebanese law Proven experience in emergency nutrition activities, including field experience in nutrition projects Work with vulnerable populations a plus
