Community Development Assistant - Tripoli

We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated candidate to support our activities in the community center Who are we DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. Duties Conduct FGDs and fill out questionnaires with beneficiaries to assess POC’s needs and interests. Develop, plan and organize courses and activities responding to the beneficiaries’ needs. Evaluate constantly the quality of the services provided in the community center by conducting evaluation exercises with beneficiaries, trainers, center staff and establish a proper complaints mechanism. Follow up on all payments and Ensure timely and supervise payments in his/her sector of responsibility. Represent the DRC Community Centre team when requested Conduct monthly coordination meetings with the community center staff and volunteers. Develop a capacity building plan for the partner and ensure its implementation.   About you To be successful in this role you must have a university degree preferably in social science, fluency in English Written and spoken and with 2 minimmum 2 years of relevabt experience. Ideally you will also have a masters degree and an experience with NGO. We offer An interesting job in one of theworld’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 2 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 1st of April 2014 and be willing and able to work in Tropoli. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
