Rural Products Coordinator

Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa (APJM):   The Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa (APJM) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization created in 2007 for the conservation of biodiversity and preservation of the cultural heritage in Jabal Moussa Mountain and surrounding villages which are part of the Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve (JM BR) under UNESCO-MAB program since 2009. The Jabal Moussa mountain is located in the Caza of Kesrwan in the North of Mount Lebanon chain, and is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna species many of which are of high conservation value (endemic, rare, endangered etc.). The Mission of APJM is the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve through participatory and adaptive management, and the sustainable development of the local communities through the creation of income generating and sustainable socio-economic activities. For more information please visit: www.jabalmoussa.org   Rural Products Coordinator (Terms of Reference): Duties:  The Rural Products Coordinator will work in close cooperation with APJM management and in particular with the Communication and Ecotourism Manager and will be responsible of: - Supervising with relevant parties the production chain of local products from source (raw materials, production equipments, kitchen, etc...) to sales (transport system, packaging, pricing, points of sales, e-shopping, etc...), and ensuring its successful implementation; - Reviewing and improving the sustainability/profitability margin (selling price, production and distribution costs) of each product and seeking new, more desirable products; - Following up on the products selling process at the local outlets and reserve entrances and e-shopping;- Working in close cooperation with the accountant to keep the inventory up to date; - Developing material for the marketing of the products, in coordination with the designer and the printing house; - Representing APJM in products-related exhibitions; - Drafting a marketing business plan Requirements: - University Degree in Business/ marketing, tourism or an environment related field - At least 1 year of managerial experience - Strong organizational and planning skills - Strong oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English (French is a plus) - Physical fitness - Ability to be creative, self motivated - Ability to travel across the country (possession of a car is essential) - Ability to cope and maintain performance expectations under pressure - Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment - Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint - Previous experience with Food and/or Handicraft products is a plus - Familiarity with the Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve is a plus Duty Station: Office: APJM-Jounieh Field: Central Kitchen (Ghbeleh) ; Reserve entrances ; Outlets Contract:  Part Time (negotiable).
