- Scope of responsibility:
Build MSF visibility, acceptance and leverage inside the country.
Contributes to identifying communication needs and defining a communication strategy supporting operational objectives.
Implements MSF operational communication at field level.
- Main responsibilities include:
Needs Assessment and Communication Strategy:
- Evaluate the field communication needs and propose a strategy.
- Work closely with the Head of mission on defining a local public advocacy strategy.
Media Management:
- Maps key local media contacts and maintains a regular contact with them.
- Acts as a back-up in the absence of the RCO for her portfolio of media contacts.
- Handle local media requests and contact local media proactively to pitch stories or ask for corrections/ clarifications.
Media Alert:
- Browsing local media and flags significant articles, news stories or reports of importance for MSF.
- Monitoring of media including social media.
Content Production/ Diffusion:
- Contributes to the production of local communications content.
- Help identify, adapt/translate the right communications tools and materials.
- Promotes timely MSF contents diffusion in the country among local media
