Legal Researcher

  AFE is looking for 5 legal researchers in Sudan, Yemen and Algeria, Kuwait and Egypt. Research on legal instruments used against and for activism on gender and sexuality   The research will provide better understanding on the legislations and laws that authorities are using to control or oppress any movement or any type of activism on gender and sexuality issues. The Legal research has to identify and retrieve information necessary to support legal decision-making. In its broadest sense, the legal research would include each step of a course of action that begins with an analysis of the facts of a problem and conclude with the application and communication of the results of the investigation.   The research should include: Overview on laws and legislations of public moralities such as prostitution, adultery, same sex, transexuality …etc Non Profit Organizations Law Overview on the conventions that protect Human Rights Defender Laws and legislations used against activism on gender and sexuality Laws and legislations could be used to defend activism on gender and sexuality and protect activists working in this field Analysis of the laws and their history Case studies       Criterias The research procedure used should be described in sufficient detail The procedural design of the research should be carefully planned to yield results that are as objectives as possible The researcher should report with complete frankness, flaws in procedural design and estimate their effects upon the findings. The analysis of data should be sufficiently adequate to reveal its significance and the methods of analysis used should be appropriate. The validity and reliability of the data should be checked carefully. Conclusions should be confined to those justified by the data of the research and limited to those for which the data provide an adequate basis. Greater confidence in research is warranted.
