Public Health Engineer Assistant

Project Name: Integrated WASH and Protection Response in Lebanon Project Description: The overall goal of the project is to reduce the suffering of those affected by the Syria Crisis in Lebanon and contribute to meet their basic needs.  Job Purpose: To work in a team of Public Health Engineers , ensuring that all construction works are completed to the agreed specifications and within the agreed project timeframes. Ensure maintenance of built facilities for the duration of the contract. Participate in further assessments as required and contribute to emergency water, sanitation and hygiene facilities.  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Programme Implementation Assist the need tented settlement or collective shelter (BoQ, plans, technical advices, works follow up). Monitoring of workers at the work site, and ensure all the Construction or rehabilitation of sanitation facilities are confirms with Oxfam specification (latrines,bathing facilities, refuse pit, waste pit…). Monitoring of workers at the work site, and ensure all the Construction or rehabilitation of drinking water infrastructures (wells, boreholes, pipe network, reservoirs, drinking water treatment…). To follow the works implemented, including daily and weekly site visit (masonry works, carpenter works, plumbing works…) Filling out daily visit log sheets and reports  Filing and managing office paper work Carrying out other duties as required To report regularly, verbally and in writing to the PHE officer. To be familiar with and abide by the NGO/Red Cross Code of Conduct, the People in Aid Code, Oxfam International procedures and other regulatory codes (e.g. Interaction Field Co-operation Protocol). With the Public Health Engineering Officer, establish systems and controls for daily site checks and documentation  Qualifications: Good communication skills; strong written and oral communication skills; Friendly, good people skills, easy to accommodate with people; Familiar with region(s) in Lebanon; especially in Koura district Ability to walk, stand, reach and possibly climb on ladders and go up or down stairs to inspect and collect data on the physical conditions Good driving skills
